    A popular favourite during the Muslim fasting period, Naan is often served before or when ending the fast. It can be stuffed with mince, cheese or even plain.

    Ingredients

    • Warm water
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 15g active yeast
    • 2 ½ cup plain flour
    • 1 tbsp salt
    • 3 tbsp melted butter
    • 1 egg
    • Cheddar (or any cheese of your preference)
    • Soft cheese
    • Shredded cheese
    • Sesame seeds

    Preparation

    1. In 1 cup of warm water, add 1 tbsp sugar
    2. 1 packet dry active yeast
    3. Allow to rest for 5 minutes
    4. 2 1/2 cup plain flour
    5. 1 tbsp salt
    6. 3 tbsp melted butter
    7. 1 egg
    8. Yeast mixture
    9. Mix
    10. Dust the surface with flour
    11. Knead the dough
    12. Oil the bowl
    13. Cover and allow to rest until double its size
    14. Flour the surface
    15. Divide into 2
    16. Divide into half again
    17. Roll out the dough
    18. Place some cheddar cheese (any cheese you like)
    19. Soft cheese
    20. Shredded cheese
    21. Roll
    22. Shape into spirals
    23. Place on a baking tray line with parchment paper
    24. Bursh with eggwash
    25. Sprinkle sesame seed
    26. Preheat oven at 180c. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes
    27. Brush with melted butter
