Last year my boyfriend and I went to Zub Express after a day at the seaside. I had been there previously with my family and had had an average experience. Before moving to the top floor for dinner, I chose to visit the restroom to wash my hands and attend nature's call. I was shocked by the dirtiness of the toilet! Later, hardly had we been seated and shown the menu (1 or 2 minutes) than the waiter asked us if he could take our orders. We answered that we had not decided yet and would need some more minutes. On that he replied "Pas dire mo pan vine prend zot commande apres" in a condescending tone and walked away. This really put us off. My boyfriend rested his elbow on the table, asking what we should do. The table top then rose under the pressure from his elbow. It turned out the table was just a plywood placed on a base, with no rivetting at all. We both agreed it was too much for a day and left the restaurant.

We had a nice evening of just Mojitos. Atmosphere was very nice, lively but not overly so. Nice crowd there. Would go again. No comment on food as we ate next door and went there for a night cap. Do not ask for the coconut unless you do not mind a hot one - the cold version is not offered - strange!

Quality service, very good meal, make sure to ask them to turn down the chillis but that's normal in Mauritius, we spent a very nice time- would go back.

Restaurant is set amidst waterfalls and cute little stream running through the restaurant. There are little "islands" where some large tables are placed which give you privacy. If you walk around you will see ducks as well as big turtles which could be very cool for entertaining kids. Food was generally nice, I chose king prawns in wine and butter which I was happy with. There were candles and torches everywhere which gave a very cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended for events and private parties as well as romantic candlelight dinners.

The food is very good at this restaurant, whether from the pizza or dinner menu. I loved the duck main course, and also had fish in coconut milk sauce was delicious. The cocktails I had were also good. On most occassions we had good service.

A speciality shop where you can find products you cannot find elsewhere, like particular cheeses, and fish like salmon for sushi, tehini, etc.

Beautiful verandah-style restaurant near the salt pans. Very welcoming and friendly staff, and a mouth watering menu. Dishes are a mix of the better Mauritian ones and some more french style fusion dishes. Service was excellent, but suffered from the odd strange wait here and there. I suppose it's off-season, and it didn't really matter much as the place was so good in all other ways. My other half had the Chicken, and I had the Duck. Both were so good they are worth recommending the restaurant for alone. Seemed to be a lack of sides/salad, but maybe they would have distracted us from tasty heap of meat... or stopped us finding out how great the desserts are. Glad we found the place, as it definitely was one of our finest meals out for a very long time, and very reasonably priced with it.

A massive restaurant on the road to Flic-en-Flac. Very thoughtfully laid out so each area feels quite cosy and intimate. Look out for the selection of aquariums near the entrance. Very chinese feel, but with a diverse menu. Service quick, polite and well executed. Dishes were all very good, with the seafood a definite strong recommend. Has an interesting selection of cocktails too.

The prices of the starters are about 100Rs and main courses which include rice and salad are mostly for 220Rs. The starter sammosa was not so good, but the main courses were nice and defintly give a great value for money (even steers is more expensive). The service was not good, but hye- what can you expect from a place so cheap?

I would like to say that the food and atmosphere at this restaurant was truly wonderful. the waiters are also superb at serving and allowing you to still feel that Mauritian atmosphere even though they serve Italian food. I would go back and i would recommend friends. They should maintain their prices as this is what the locals need.

Some effort seems to have gone into making the restaurant interior a bit more up market, but it is very cluttered and cramped with far too much going on ... eg, internet cafe in one corner, deafening noisy kitchen equipment being used in the open bar. The staff are friendly and helpful, but we had some communication problems (as did others). It may have been the noise or something to do with languages. The menu is diverse and interesting, with some very appetising and original dishes on offer. The selection we had ranged from good and tasty, to innovative to downright inedible due to over seasoning. Also many of the dishes had a slight burned flavour, I don't think they'd been burned, but I think something had been in the kitchen. I would like to say I'd go back and try some more of their dishes, but unfortunately (for them) there are better restaurants around. I'm sure they can sort out these little issues in due course and have a very good offering. Worth pointing out they do not serve alcoholic drinks, and have a sign saying they don't allow drinks from outside. Wasn't a problem for us, but some other guests were a little put out as you don't know until you ask!
