Prix disproportionnés par rapport aux quantités particulièrement faibles ! Je vous conseille d’éviter de prendre le même plat pour plusieurs personnes ... Très très décevant par rapport à l’historique de ce restaurant w

Chez Pierre Paul

05/12/2012 by Jerome Limoi

This excellent authentic restaurant was recommended to me by fellow tourists and I was very fortunate and happy. "Simply the best" place to eat in Chamarel, Not too over decorated for the tourist, this is a small, clean and friendly place with a shy chef, producing excellent cuisine to complete your holiday memories in Mauritius. Other diners in the restaurant all appear happy and satisfied. This place is not advertised as they rely on " ear and mouth" as a personal touch. Look out for little Emma......and her little smiles....

Chez Pierre Paul

24/03/2018 by Brigitte Reinshagen

06/01/2010 by girish

Went for dinner at Chez Pepe on Saturday 26th December. Restaurant was crowded. Not much of a decor. Went there with 6 other persons. Service was extremely slow.I asked for another soft drink after the waiter had brought us 6 dishes.Didn't get it.(don't know if the guy had forgotten or just could'nt care less) When we had almost finished eaten our dishes, the 7th person's pizza finally arrived. Now the minced beef used for the bolognaise was fatty and tasteless. And i doubt that real mascarpone was used in the Tiramisu and frankly i prefer the original simple tiramisu to that made by the chef at Chez Pepe which has génoise and créme Chantilly. So cheers.

The food was simply delicious, we had pasta instead of pizza and a never ending tiramisu for dessert but was left with a salty bill...Next time maybe we'll try their pizza

Chez Pepe

27/06/2010 by Mahesh

We dined at this restaurant twice during our holiday. Both times we were part of a group. The first time all the dishes were served promptly except for one which was served after everyone had finished their dish. I can accept that this could happen but the owner was totally unapologetic about the error which is not acceptable. I should never have returned but unfortunately I did (mostly due to peer pressure). The second time, I dined there with some friends. Unfortunately, the friends with which we had arranged to meet were a late so we took a table and ordered cocktails. It was not pleasurable experience. The waiter asked us repeatedly if our friends had stood us up. It seems odd for this to be even be asked as we did order some drinks and we did tell him that they had been held up in traffic. Nonetheless, in the 35 min we waited for our friends, we were asked 4 times if they were still coming. Outrageous! The problem with this place is that it was at the time the only pizza place in Flic en Flac. Maybe it used to be good at some point but I travel regularly to Mauritius and I will never return to Chez Pepe. Furthermore, I hear another pizza place has opened on the beach front of Flic en Flac. I hope the service is better then Chez Pepe!

Chez Pepe

the first time i had lunch at Pepe with a friend, the service was very slow. The pizza we ordered was salty. the next time we went there, they missed the chicken on the pizza. the food was taken back to the kitchen to only place the chicken over the cooked mozarella. what was irritating was that the waiter did not appologize for the mistake. They charge high prices for such low quality in their service.

Chez Pepe

I will definitely recommend the place. At the same time, I was in a lovely company so the mood was all set :-) Otherwise, the food was of quality one and the service as well. Except one thing I ordered a pizza and was offered a massive portion and was told that it was the standard size in Italy. Having visited Roma, I can assure you that it isnt! But anyways, it was quality food! So minor thing! A big yes for a romantic evening! :-)

Chez Pepe

21/11/2010 by roy luctchmun

It has been 3 years since I,ve been Chez Pepe. I would agree with these fellow reviews that Pepe is an excellent restaurant and am personally been there several times and recommended people there as food was more than excellent...however it was a pity for me when on the 21st of November 2010 i went there with my family n friends...ordered for some pasta dishes, pizzas...and bruscheta.....I was very shocked about the quality of the food served....Bruscheta which was supposed to be served with a sort of tomato salad topping n olive oil was served with some red pizza sauce n tasted badly....the same sauce was used on the pizza ordered which came later n again it tasted like local sunny tomato juice was being used as the topping over the pizza which was moreover not cooked well....the fruiti dimare spagetti also was not great at all and had to order chilli paste to add taste to the food.....again i asked for a pinacollada which normally is prepared using coconut milk and instead i was served pinacolada prepared with canned nestle cream...later i learned that the previous cook is no more working chez pepe....so BEWARE guys before going there as u pay a lot to get only BAD FOOD>>>>

Chez Pepe

This was my favourite restaurant in the East.... Until last Christmas. We wanted to come to order pizza for pickup. We called the restaurant to place an order. The voice on the phone went like this. "No, no, come! We'll be open. You can place your order then". So we asked "Are you sure? It's about 20 minutes to closing time. We'll be there in about 10 minutes.". The voice on the phone says "Yes, that's OK". So, we leave a bunch of restaurants and rush to flic n flac. We were there in about 12 minutes. They denied us entry. We stated that we had called and talked to someone. One of the waiters confided to us that it was probably the owner. So we asked to see the owner. He waved no from his seat. And that was it. Will I ever go to this restaurant? NO Do I recommend it? NO Good bye Chez pepe.

Changed tables twice because there were ants roaming freely. Portions were quite big, but with no attention to detail. Pizzas looked a bit grotesque, taste was just about OK.

Chez Pepe

02/08/2011 by david

I have been to a few restaurants on the island. If you want to eat something else than chinese...then go to Chez Pepe. It's an italian restaurant in front on the beach of Flic en Flac. You have a large choice from meat to pasta, pizza and seafoods. The owner is italian and really sympathetic. The food is good, the environment welcoming.Go to Flic en Flac and ask for a nice restaurant, I will be surprise if someone does not tell you about Chez Pepe.

Chez Pepe

26/08/2011 by Thierry

Among all the local restaurants I have been to, this one is by far the best. No wonder why it is always crowded during peak season. Perhaps the staff finds it hard to coop with the flux but overall they should not be judged too hardly. The place comes highly recommended nevertheless!!

We've been to this restaurant because we wanted to eat italian, and in Flic en Flac there's no other choice than this restaurant. The owner claims to know all about the italian kitchen just because he's italian, he's arrogant and agressive. Ok nevermind, I was hungry. As a first course, we tried the bruschetta and then my wife and I took a pizza. Frankly, I never had such an unpleasant experience for ages. It was simply inacceptable: dishes are cold, ingredients seem to have been chosen for their low price rather than for their quality plus we weren't served at the same time. The wine is awful too.

Chez Pepe

In 2011 we returned to Chez Pepe twice as the food was very very good. Lovely view and good service. In 2012 the experience was different. The food was still very good but we were surrounded by LOADS of flies. We couldn't eat at all. We rushed through our meal and got out of the restaurant. Not sure if we'll return in 2013.
