Good pizza but paying 400 for a pizza and still hungry is not really worth it.

The place is nice and welcoming but price for food is a bit expensive and service is slow. Would certainly visit again but will get myself invited :)

Me remerciera :-) Enjoy !

We tried the Menu of the day- 800Rs plus VAT. It included a starter, main, dessert and coffee. The salad, on which they tossed smoked prawns was a delicious combination. For main we had the raviolo and the fish curry dish, which is accompanied by many root vegetables that are a staple of the Mauritian diet. Dessert was a great Creme Brule. We also received some "extra treats" that were very nice-selection of warm breads, two types of chili, chocolates and pastries. The service was wonderful and attentive.

A favourite stop for tour guides to take visitors. Found Items on the menu to be very expensive in comparison to other venues. Not an exceptional choice. They have a "NO SMOKING" sign prominently displayed. However on the date we visited they did noting to stop a guest at another table from smoking a cigar while we were eating. When I asked about their smoking policy, they refused to deal with the situation and made an excuse that the restaurant wasn't that busy and the table was in a corner. Ruined my meal.

La Cigale Pizzaria

La Cigale is a small restaurant located directly at the road towards Grand Bay. It has inside and outside tables and the restaurant offers take-away. The service is very friendly and quick. The menue contains lots of typical Italian dishes and offers a nice variety of wines. Beside the regular dish you order you will have a small bowl with grinded grana di padano and a variety of pesti. The served pasta is well cooked, ask for al dente if you prefer. The quality of pizza is ok. Although the chefs try to prepare it nicely with garlic, herbs and spices, the pizza base has to be improved. The atmosphere is ok. In my opinion this restaurant is positively neutral, not bad, but not overwhealming either. If you are looking for gourmet food or for a bargain try later. If your priority is the service and atmosphere I can definitely recommend.

I've lived in Mauritius for just over 2 years and only discovered La Cigale the other night with dinner with friends. The service was sharp, witty and excellent with humourous waiters making your night even better. We had pizza's which were the best we've tasted on the island. No wonder when you drive past the place is always full. Great place - I think I've just found my favourite pizza place!

It has been one year that I have been going there on a frequent basis. Still best pizza in the island and trust me, these lasagna with prawns and pesto sauce are really worth trying. Massive prawns, awesome sauce and al dente pasta. Have also tried spaghetti and all but the lasagna and pizza are the ones you should go for. Also try prawn salad served in half pineapple. la cigale was a lovely place with great service and atmosphere. Food was excellent, service very quick and efficient. It has been over years since i have been going to La cigale. I must say it is the best place in the island with very very good food and good customer service which makes your evening even more better. The prawn lasagna is really worth of trying very delicious and tasty, even if you are not hungry you would like to eat it . Besides, the salads are superb and the sauces is a must that one should try. Everytime i go to this restaurant i always return back very happily and I always enjoy my food there. Pizza's were the best i have ever tasten in Mauritius. Trust me, all pizza's lovers should really go to this restaurant. If your priority is good service, great food, good atmosphere and a good price then i would recommend everyone to go to la cigale.

For me the best example of Mauritian hospitality. Waiters are very helpful in explaining the menu and suggesting. The quality of ingredients is really high and for this quality, the prices are more than affordable. Really good food, good service and affordable prices.

The Pizza'a here are, i would say the best ive had in grand baie, they are authentic to italian cuisine even though the owner is french. i ordered a salad nicoise, unusual as the potato had been mixed in the dressing first then added to the green part of the salad, tasted good though. Pizza fruit de mer was very tasty and fresh . all in all a lovely lunch. i did not know they did steaks here so will certainly return to sample!

Savoureuses pizzas, lorsque je suis dans le Nord, je ne les prends que là , j'ai du essayer beaucoup d'autres adresses, mais rien de comparable aux pizzas de La Cigale !
