Café Dragon Vert

24/07/2011 by Devaraj

Probably the best Chinese in town, though, it serves the traditional 'Mauritius Chinese' food and here and there steaks and fried fish. Nothing that much creative. But, it's appetizers are to die for (the crispy calamari is delicious). The always hot soups are more than decent and main courses very enjoyable, notably the squid in black bean sauce with fried rice. You would dine at DV for that cosy casual family dinner. I forgot, one of the few restos on the island that have consistently kept up the quality and taste; I've been eating at DV for more than 15 years, I can vouch on the consistency. Remember to always book before. The bunch of lively staff will always welcome you with a smile.

Café Dragon Vert

I have been there several times with family...we have always enjoyed the simple but yummy food. We had also pre booked the small room next to the main dining area as we were around 12 pax once and pre ordered our food and everything had been excellent. The service also has always been awesome...However, I would suggest to have more varieties on the menu..

Cafe de La Plage - Grand Baie

03/01/2019 by myself

Service is horrible, one very impolite girl received us...a cappuccino is 150 rupees and a simple small bottle of water is 100 rupees ...espresso is 125 rupees....we had to carry our own coffee from the counter until our table the girl she was busy doing other things...we asked to talk with the manager and he was not there but by magic once we refused to pay the manager came...real magic! Dead cockroaches all over the place immagine at night what it is there ??????....better to go to the other coffee near by, but NEVER in this place they will just still your money!!!

Cafe Hong Kong

06/08/2013 by Dany Konsein

This restaurant is a long establishment passed down from mother to son, still overseen by Mum and a super friendly family institution. It is a true gem offering very traditional hakka dishes that cannot be found in any other countries. Food is just excellent and unbelievably good value for money. A MUST try if you are visiting Port Louis, set aside 1 hour to have lunch there. Service is extremely fast and efficient. Dishes to try are all their homemade steam chou chou balls (veggie balls), their bol renverse COPS (a truly exciting and innovative upside down rice bowl with meat and veg), dumplings in soup amongst the vast array of food on offer. Ohh complete heaven. My whole family cannot wait to go back.

What a fantastic restaurant serving from Burgers with chips to Curries and delicious cuppacinos...oh and wow what wonderful people and atmosphere. When you have been once you definitely would go back again. Food is very good and very reasonable. Loved it and make a turn to the restaurant at least once or twice a week. Monday nights they have a burger evening with buy one burger and get the second at half price...fantastic for families and groups too.

Cafe International

28/04/2010 by Mauritian Couple

I once asked a top restaurateur in Johannesburg South Africa, Barry Twiss of the Baron group how he manages to get his restaurants so full and busy, and keeps them so full and busy?"I SERVE GOOD FOOD" he replied.Well, let me tell you, we found a real little gem of a restaurant/cafe? in Trou aux Biches. Run by an enthusiastic husband and wife team who also hails from South Africa, who does just that. They "SERVE GOOD FOOD".Sadly they are not licensed yet, but those formalities should be soon completed. I look forward to the day that we would be able to order a bottle of wine with our scrumptious meals we have been having there. This little place just HAS to be tried by everyone, South African or not. A little puzzling are the hours they keep. Can't believe they do not open on a Sunday. Can just imagine the breakfasts that kitchen could turn out! Perhaps in time. For now, however, I will take my family there at least once a week(if not twice).I am adamant to try every offering on the menu. If it is anything like the burger I had, the crumbed prawns my wife devoured or the delicious meat balls and pasta during my second visit, I just HAVE to.Well done to this couple. They simply SERVE GOOD FOOD.

What a little gem of a restaurant! Good food, good company, excellent service. If you want a fantastic burger this is the place to go, the calamari is heavenly as well. Friendly atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble for the owners Deon & Annemarie. Very reasonably price menu, absolutely on my favourite list!

Cafe International

My family and I spend most of out meals on a 2 weeks vacation at Cafe International enjoying the excellent food, superb burgers and warm hospitality of Annemarie, Deon and Alex. At Café International you will find a genuine interest in preparing an excellent meal at a very fair price, a combination which is not often found. We fell completely for Deon and Annemarie’s relaxed and down to earth attitude and had the feeling of being welcomed as a guest of the house.

We went there on a Monday of August after having read about the Monday special offer (2 hamburgers for 1)posted in August on this site (and still online) but we were told that it was not valid anymore. We tried the hamburgers and fries but they were simply not good.
