really surprised by this restaurant ,beautiful set up and specially good seafood at good price ,the prices are not big different from the small restaurants in grand bay centre and to my surprise it was the only busy restaurant in grand bay that night

tres joli restaurant avec une tres bonne cuisine mais surtout tres propre,on a bien aime le poisson dans la feuille de banane et le gratin de fruits de mer .le service est trop rapide pour ce cadre romantique au bord de l'eau,un peu plus cool les gars

I recently visited Le Capitaine and was extremley dissapointed. This was my 3rd visit, and in the past we have experienced excellent food and service. The food was not as good has it had been in the past, smaller portions, the service was extrmely rushed and we ate 3 courses in an hour. There was no time to let your starter digest before the main meal was served. The waiter was clearing the table while we were eating. The fish tasted as though it had been frozen and the pranws were very chewy, the lobster had been overcooked. I have in the past recommended this restaurant to many friends but would definatley not visit again.

on avait visiter ce restaurant il y a plus de 3 ans ,nous sommes surprise du niveau de cette etablissement ,nous pensons que c`est le meilleur de grand baie qu`il soit le service ,l`ambiance ,la cuisine et le prix ,pour ce qu`on peut manger et dans ce joli décor ,il n`y a pas de comparable a grand baie ,un petit conseil au proprio ,il faut changer le style de cuisine plus vers la gastronomie et il n`y aura pas photo

top quality food and service ,we spend a really nice evening ,try the tiger prawns with olive oil ,normally they put wine in it as a muslim I asked the water to remove the wine but that didn't alter the taste and we came out for 4 persons only RS3000,not bad if you compare what we usually pay

Visited during recent holiday in Mauritius, having previously had great meal there 10 years ago. We weren't disappointed. We were a party of 12 including children, but the service was prompt and excellent. The waiters were helpful with the menu items, and everyone was delighted with their food choice. Although now back in England, I would gladly travel back to Grand Baie just for another taste of the baked crab & braised palm heart ! Hopefully not another 10 years until our next visit !

We asked our taxi driver for the best local restaurant and he brought us to Le Capre. An absolute gem of a find. We had the lobster and prawns which were the best we have ever had and the owner entertained the customers singing and playing the guitar. We are going back to Mauritius in March and will definitely be going back.

Le restaurant Le capre situé a Cap malheureux à l'ile maurice est un excellent resto où la langouste est délicieuse à un prix correct.Celà fait plusieurs fois que nous y allons et les repas sont toujours aussi bons.:le gratin de crabe, les camarons ...etc Sans oublier l'ambiance avec Ajugen qui chante et joue de la guitare et sa charmante épouse avec toujours le sourire avec qui on peut passer de bons moments à discuter. Et n'oublions pas le rhum arrangé ,spécialité délicieuse de l'ile maurice.Allez y et vous ne serez pas déçus

Ce restaurant était le pire jusqu'à présent à Ile Maurice. Nous avons eu deux homards grillés, un pour ma femme et un pour moi et c'était juste un cauchemar,cétait trop cuit et sec; en plus de sa, le service était pas au top et on a payé trés chére pour des merdes.Meilleur encore, notre chauffer de taxi qui nous a recommandé le capre a touché un comission en plus de sa. On peu pratiquement voir que ce restaurant est un 'ARNAQUER'.

Excellent restaurant ou l'on mange la cuisine mauricienne très bien préparée,sans oublier la langouste fraîche qui est délicieuse . We stumbled across Le Chamarel while touring the southern half of Mauritius and are so glad we did. It is highly recommended. Good food, good service and the view of the sea, lagoon and the mountain around is breathtaking. Our meal at Le Chamarel was the best we had in Africa. Exceptional soup, appetizer and entrees. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the setting was fantastic. It was well worth our visit The prices are a little expensive but definitely worth for the dining experience.

Was coming down, was so hungry.... It was my first visit there... I was amazed by the view... Had a really nice lunch... and most important, SMOKING was not prohibited... Yahooooooooooooooooo...... Cheers A must go Restaurant for lovers...

One of the best restaurants i've been to in Mauritius. The best view i have ever had at a restaurant. Very good food. Would so go again, and will!

Als je goed, leuk en mooi wilt lunchen: ga naar Le Chamarel. Wat zit je daar mooi. Perfecte service, normale prijzen en prima kwaliteit!

Le Chamarel Restaurant est de loin le meilleur restaurant sur la côte ouest . Les prix ne sont pas excessifs par rapport au plats proposés et on a en prime une vue imprenable sur la côte sud ouest .Le service est impeccable . Je vous recommande le travers de porc..... une fête pour le palais .

Food is good, atmosphere is cosy, but service only average

Nous avons déjeuné ce dimanche 18 septembre 2016 avec la découverte de la nouvelle carte, hélas totalement changée très déçus!! dommage d'un changement radical de la carte avec tout de ce que comportait la précédente.... qui était excellente La quantité également a diminué dans les assiettes...On cherche les légumes À éviter la dorade panée (3 petits morceaux) les gyoza (une noisette de ratatouille) un raté! Pour la déco, mobilier rien à dire sauf les nouvelles chaises pas confortables du tout,' au bout d'une heure dur!dur! Pour le personnel et l'accueil à la Mauricienne c'est tout ce qui reste de positif dans cet établissement.

Tucked onto the verge of Chamarel cliff, this restaurant offers a unique and sensational view of the paradise island's south west. My fiancee and I went there for a birthday lunch on the 21 Sept and our expectations were nicely exceeded. The service was very good and the staff showed tremendous hospitality towards their Customers. The food bore the touch of a genuine chef and was simply excellent. We were impressed and really liked the place. Keep the good work up and we shall definitely come back.

One of the yearly highlight when coming to Mauritius is lunch at The Chamarel restaurant! This year we were very disappointed, because the renovation has transformed the unique atmosphere, style and menu into a common restaurant. Fortunately the charming and professional staff and the breathtaking view are still the same. We are sorry to have lost a precious gem. Hopefully, the minds behind that change won't do any further adjustments to a style that is everywhere seen and maybe bring back the chocolate cake!
