truly a magical place I visit each time Iam in MAURITIUS,MAGICAL SURROUNDINGS and as a bonus the wonderful works by YVETTE Maniglier to be admired.It is like a well kept secret.The place does not come cheap but what can be expected at this level.Before dinnerdrinks are twice the size of what you get at your 5star resort for instance.So I 'd sayoverall an honest price-quality rate.4course dinner-including lobster-is 4000rupees. for this price you get a marvelous dining experience.If you like fine dining do not miss out.To unconditional fans of fastfood;stay away

Nous avons mangé dans ce restaurant le vendredi 26 novembre 2010 à la table 39 dans un des 3 pavillons sur le petit lac. Aucun accueil à l'entrée ; il a fallu trouver la table réservée par nos propres moyens! Service pourri ; les serveurs et serveuses n'avaient aucune manière, aucun sourire, aucune présentation. Ils ont même réussi à échapper un plat dans le petit lac au grand plaisir des poissons!! Je soupçonne une hiérarchie parmi les serveurs entre anciens plus âgés et nouveaux plus jeunes auprès du cuisinier. Entré à 19h, servi seulement à 21h, une attente inacceptable Nourriture coussi-coussa ; tous les plats goûtent l'assaisonnement chinois! Ce ne devrait pas être le cas pour un restaurant de cette réputation. Je pense que ce restaurant repose sur une réputation surfaite. Dommage dans un si beau décor! Les restaurants de la Route Royale à Flic en Flac sont meilleurs!!

the pizza's quality and taste vary from other pizza huts outlets. At times i think tht they give us stale pizzas coz they taste kinda salty n bland as though its been reheated. On one occasion they forgot to top my pizza with BBQ sauce wen i hd ordered BBQ chicken pizza, i mean how culd they forgot to put such an important topping. Another time wen i ordered for home delivery, they almost forgot my order. i placed the order at 18 pm and got it at 21.30 pm. I HAD TO CALL ATLEAST 10 TIMES.

By Chance not choice i loved the restaurant,hmmmmm bane crevettes ti encore fresh,ey mo ti ou sa riz frit cuma dr paradis,et so piment mari tamam. Restaurant la bizin mete partout lor l'ile..ek so la soupe fruits de mer cuma dire kot lakaz mama..ousoi ou p manze la soupe la o milieu la mer do matlo..ou senti loder la tou.bien bon aler zot pou knten..

FANTASTIC... I CANT COUNT HOW MANY TIME I WENT THERE EVERY WEEK. THE BEST RESTO I EVER SEEN.....

I went to l'Alchimiste twice for lunch. The food is absolutely perfect. The waiter explained to us that they produced all their ingredients on the premises of the estate in which the restaurant is found... from the spices, vegetables to the venisson, wild boar, duck and other meat they serve. They even prepare their own bread (such a delight). The cutlery is very nice and service is 5*. The only problem is that it's quite hot but you get refreshed by the food and drinks served. Their home cocktails from fresh fruits are just exquisite. I definitely recommend l'Alchimiste to everybody. You can also have a visit of their rum distillery facilities.

One of the best restaurants i've been to in Mauritius. The best view i have ever had at a restaurant. Very good food. Would so go again, and will!

Hey pals, think you went to the wrong restaurant. My most recent visit on 16th december 2010, was very enjoyable. There was about 5 waiters who were very friendly. Drinks were served almost immediately and the food was delicious. The crab was finger licking good as well as the sweet and sour porc. The rice was steamed to perfection. Couldn't stop eating that night. Oohhh and the cockroaches ... Seems they didn't received the invitation card that night. Lol

Soirée du vendredi inoubliable. Excellent buffet à volonté de spécialités locales avec "French touch" remarquable. Excellente animation avec soirée Sega, musiques, chants et danses locales. Un cadre enchanteur le long de la plage de Flic en Flac... "What else" dirait Georges Clooney !

Un piège à touriste inacceptable. Amenés par un taxi qui devait toucher une commission, nous avons d'abord été surpris par les prix bien au dessus de la moyenne habituelle. Nous avons donc espéré une cuisine à la hauteur... Fatal error !! Plats insipides, service très long et peu attentionné. Restaurant à éviter.

Excellent restaurant au centre de Curepipe. Service à la fois "classe" et chaleureux. Un "MUST", le dessert inoubliable : Le "Bougrement bon".. sublime !

The question i ask is how come the prices are higher here in Mauritius than in South Africa! rs35 for adding olive toppings! are they freaking crazy! It cost me rs375 for a standard pizza with olive and pineapple.

I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago, I'm a big fan of chinese dish and the food at Shamping was excellent ( I took a sam tung chicken with rice) as well as the service but the drinks were too expensive for a chinese restaurant and VAT is not included in the menu so be careful if your budget is low.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Mauritius, I use to go there several times a month. The food quality is excellent but the restaurant is always crowded. You have to wait 10 minutes to get a table even though there are plenty of restaurants in that particular street in Port-Louis. Also, it is not recommended for a gathering with friends as the waiters want you to eat quickly so that you can get off your table quickly for other people waiting to get a seat, so you cannot take forever to eat, drink, share a toast.

The best Chinese food i never eat!!The seafood was very fresh!! Try the steamed fish with ginger wow super:)The szechuen prawn was excellent.The service was OK.The price value for money.P

Waitresses respond as if you have disturbed them. Dinner was ruined when we found 'Hair' in the food. The manager didn't even try to make up for that. We had to pay for the Hair food - which obviously we didn't eat. Never will go there again.

Amazing products, great service. The prices are high.

Très bon repas dans un cadre idyllique ! Nous y retournerons ans soucis !
