Your account and your public profile
What signing up gives you, what other people can see, and how to control it.

Browsing needs no account at all. You only need one when you want to do something that belongs to you: book a table, write a review, save places, upload photos or collect points.
Signing up
Choose Sign in and either continue with Google or create an account with your email and a password. Email sign-ups get a confirmation message — click the link in it and you are in. If it does not arrive, check spam, then try again with the same address.
Filling in your profile
Under My profile you can add a display name, a username, a photo, where you are based and a short line about the food you like. It takes two minutes and it earns you a badge, but the real reason to do it is that reviews from a real, recognisable person carry far more weight with other diners.
What is public and what is not
Public: your display name, username, photo, your published reviews and photos, your badges, points and level, and who you follow.
Private, always: your email address, your phone number, your bookings, your saved lists and anything still awaiting moderation. We never show contact details on a profile, and we never sell them.
Following and being followed
You can follow other members to see what they are eating, and they can follow you. If someone behaves badly, use Report this member on their profile — it goes to our team with your reason attached, and we act on it.
Notifications
Choose what reaches you under notification settings: booking updates, replies to your reviews, points and badges, and our newsletter. Booking messages are worth keeping on — that is how a restaurant tells you it has confirmed your table.
Leaving
Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your profile and personal details. Reviews you wrote can either go with you or stay on the site without your name — you decide.
