(Samoussa Poulet) Cheese Samosa

    Normally known as Samosa or ”Samoosa” in our local terms. A Samosa is basically a fried dough or baked pastry with savoury fillings of your choice.

    Ingredients

    • 1 Cup Flour
    • 1/2 Cup Water
    • 2 Cups Of Cheese (Grated)
    • 2 Cups Sweet Corn
    • Salt
    • Oil

    Preparation

    1. In a large bowl combine flour with a pinch of salt for the dough along with water and knead until a soft dough is obtained
    2. Then divide the dough and roll them into a small balls
    3. Do a mixture of flour and oil
    4. Roll one dough flat and not too thin then smear 1 small tsp of the mixture (flour + oil) all over one surface and stick the other dough to it and reserve
    5. Repeat process with the remaining balls
    6. Heat the pile of dough in a hot pan
    7. Let it cook for around 1-2 mins on each side
    8. Remove carefully and cut the sheets in rectangular strips of 20cm x 5cm with a sharp knife
    9. Then separate the layers one by one
    10. Mix cheese with corn
    11. On a flat surface,start by laying the sheet and forming into small triangular shape.
    12. Fill in your triangle with 1 tsp of the sweet corn and cheese mixture.
    13. Lift first triangle up and over to form the second triangle and continue folding over until the end of the pastry strip is reached
    14. Seal the edges with the flour glue
    15. Repeat until all the samosas are done
    16. Fry the samosas in hot oil until light brown and crispy
    17. Drain the excess oil on sheets of absorbent paper
