Great Mauritian Restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent food. Pricing is reasonable. Service needs a bit a professionalism but I'll definitely return !

We deserve much more in terms of quantity and quality of food for what they make us pay. Furthermore, for the lamb menus, we are served mutton instead of lamb. Its pretty disgusting for what they make us pay and what we are served. The restaurant no more respond to the status and goodwill it once maintained.

As Mauritian who loves Italian food, I can highly recommend Luigis restaurant. I am a regular customer of Luigis, and has been there already more than 20 times! Luigs is an Italian restaurant offering also a selection of seafood and meat dishes a little north to the center of Grand-Bay. I always eat there excellent Italian food. I think that the pizzas in Luigis are the best I had so far in Mauritius. I usually order their four seasons pizza. Other great Pizza is the Murano Pizza (tomatoes, salami, onions and mushrooms). The prices are very reasonable, and no doubt this is our favorite place for family dinning in Mauritius (especially for my children). I can also recommend some of the dessert, especially the black and white mousse, which is heavenly – the best possible combination of white and dark chocolate mousse. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, the owners, a very nice Italian couple, which are always there make sure to great all customers and to manage the restaurant with much skill. Enjoy :-)

We went to Luigi's this evening, 3 people. We were warmly greeted the second we got there even though it was already quite busy. We immediately felt at home, what a fantastic atmosphere! We shared a few starters: Garlic bread, calamaris (which were to die for!) and a terrific eggplant melanzane. The friendly restaurant owners, Renata and her husband, came to check we were having a good time and enjoying our food. For the main courses we shared a few pizzas: The Hawaiian, Murano and Siciliana. All were finger licking good! We also tried the Salmon Ravioli and the seafood pasta, and there were no disappointments here either: the pasta was made to perfection and the sauces were great. No meal is complete without dessert, and we had the tiramisu, the brownies with ice cream and the house specialty: Ebony and ivory - which is a mousse made of 2 layers of dark and white chocolate. The prices were more than reasonable and the whole meal including all drinks was around 2200 rupees. We will definitely come back to Luigi's on our next trip to Mauritius. I highly recommend them! A very nice restaurant! I'd gone there with my family and we had 2 pizzas which were finger licking good ( I LOVE pizzas and I can say that those are the best pizza I ever eat!!) and the dessert was awesome! The owner and his wife are very smart as well as their employees!The service is rapid and the price is also very good! I will probably go there this weekend to watch the World Cup with friends. Nothing could be better than Foot, Friends and Great Pizzas! ;) But well don't trust me, go and taste it ;))

Quite good food on the overall. I tried their foccachia and four cheese pizza. My boyfriend took their Meridiana sauch with spaghettis. Nice place if you are looking for Italian food but not if you are expecting authentic Italian food because the dried herbs use and overall flavours are not quite up to the authentic Italian food taste.

I live in South Africa and this is by far the best place to eat at in Mauritius, especially if you want a taste of Italy!! Graet food and the desserts are to die for x

Luigi's rose to our expectations. My seafood gratin was just about ok, but pizza was good. Great portions too for the pasta. We had an issue with our steaks, which we ordered medium well, and was served well done! We called the waiter who candidly stated that this is how "medium well" is supposed to be! We requested another steak, and this one was much much better. Actually it seems like they used a completely different meat altogether, Juicy, tender and tasty. If you want steak there, ask for medium rare. Overall, still a pleasant experience though.

Fabulous steaks, awesome PIZZA, Great salads, sublime dessert... I highly recommend the restaurant!

I wont start this review off the way I want to. I'll start off being pleasant. My Fiance and I spend an average of Rs5000 at luigi's a month and up until Saturday night, we always had a fantastic time (service sometimes was a bit iffy, but everything else made up for it). We arrived as a table of 4 on Saturday night, we were seated and the waiter came along, not saying a word and held up his little book to show us he wanted to take orders, so we ordered our drinks, they arrived and so did the waiter (we weren't too sure knew how to speak) holding up his little book again , just to mention, we were not even showed the white board with the special. Anyway we ordered our food. When it came my friends Risotto looked like moosh (dogs food if i am honest) and tasted horrible, my pizza had sooooo much cheese on it and seemed to have not been cooked for long enough, it was sickening. I had one slice and called back the waiter (who we still weren't sure if he could talk :0 ) to ask him to put it back in the oven for a couple of minutes . When my pizza came back - there was NO DIFFERENCE, I had 1 more slice and that was that. After everyone had finished and our voiceless waiter cleared the table and brought the bill . PLEASE NOTE - WE HAD NOT BEEN OFFERED SECONDS DRINKS AFTER 30 MINUTES INTO THE MEAL OUR DRINKS WERE FINISHED, NO DESSERT WAS OFFERED NOR COFFEE - NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Upon going to Renata at the bar to give our bill , i inquired if we were actually allowed to have a coffee .......... wait for it ....... she said rudely and in such a loud manner " what ? ", " what do you want me to do , im here and you there" i then tried to explain and once again, even louder, I got a " what do you want me to do, im here and you are there, speak to my husband" he then appeared behind me and gently asked what was the problem as the two tables infront and kitchen staff to the left had all stopped to look at what was going on... i explained the whole thing and he said ' sorry do you want a coffee'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I am a person that strives in my profession to offer the best service I can. For me, Direction comes from the top - well, now we all know why the service SUCKS at Luigi's , they are copying their boss. I know so many families that have stopped going to luigi's because of similar stories , its a real shame but i will not go back there.

Our family (from S.A.) have been eating at Luigi's Restaurant once or twice a month for the last year and a half! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the owners are most hospitable. If you are looking for a real Italian pizza or pasta - this is it! The produce is always fresh and one of my favourites - fresh asparagus, is to die for! Everything that we have sampled on the menu including the specials on the board (this includes a huge selection of fresh fish and meat) have always been a winner and that is why we always go back for more! Well done Luigis! :)

I have been to Luigi's beginning of this year and had quite a bad experience. I decided to give it another chance last week end and was very happy that I did. I tasted one of the best Italian pizzas in Mauritius and my friend thought the same of her Lasagne. Its nice to see such a restaurant back on the tracks again. Keep it up.

I've been there last saturday night. it is by far my favorite restaurant of all time. The pizza over there are awesome!!!! Can't describe what it taste like but i can assure you, this is by far the best pizza i have ever eaten in my life. I live in curepipe, and travel all the way to gbaie just to eat there food. I strongly recommend this restauant.

the pizza's here are exceptional, all freshly prepared & baked in a clay oven. Other food on the menu is also good quality & well cooked. The restaurant is frequented by many locals & they are definitely given preferential service to that given to visitors, even if you eat there regularly during your stay in Mauritius. The owner comes out each evening but only acknowledges regular customers, this is a great shame as everyone likes to feel special when on holiday.

Went there last saturday. Orderd as entree: prawns raviolli and some calamaris. Both were excellent. Raviolli were perfectly cooked and calamari was not elastic, thus cooked at perfection. As main course we ordered : a pizza ( nonni flavor if im not wrong) and entrecote d'agneau grillé. What was a bit odd was the waiting time to have those two plates. Was around 40 minutes between entree and main course. Maybe because there were lots of take away pizzas going. But the pizza was one of the best i ate and the lamb could melt in your mouth.you can feel the different flavors in your palate. Would not hesitate to go back there again.

Awesome Italian food! I enjoyed every dish I had there. From the starters to the desserts, everything was just too good...especially the ravioli.. Thank you, Luigi, for the wonderful lunch I had!

I am a frequent customer at Luigi's and very happy with the consistency every time I go there ! The quality of the food is again outstanding and service excellent. This time out, we had the scampi rissotto and grilled gambas, house wine and brownies with vanilla ice cream all and they were all up to the mark.
