Being Mauritian, Leslie used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Mauritius. The atmosphere is really nice, the food was always good, the service great and all in all great value for money. I am sad to say that last week was less good- everything took a very long time to get to the table, and the food was not worth the wait. I really hope the next time will be good like always has been before last week's visit.

A must for people who like good dining! We had a lovely dinner in a wonderful atmosphere and great setting. The food was very tasty cooked with good quality products and enhanced by a beautiful presentation. My only regret was that they don't serve octopus and the deserts are quite basic but still very tasty... We also had a nice welcome and service from the team. With live music, the restaurant has everything for a romantic dinner or a good night out with friends!

Probably the best Chinese in town, though, it serves the traditional 'Mauritius Chinese' food and here and there steaks and fried fish. Nothing that much creative. But, it's appetizers are to die for (the crispy calamari is delicious). The always hot soups are more than decent and main courses very enjoyable, notably the squid in black bean sauce with fried rice. You would dine at DV for that cosy casual family dinner. I forgot, one of the few restos on the island that have consistently kept up the quality and taste; I've been eating at DV for more than 15 years, I can vouch on the consistency. Remember to always book before. The bunch of lively staff will always welcome you with a smile.
RépondreIndian Summer
24/07/2011 par Devaraj
The best South Indian food you can get in Mauritius is at Indian Summer- no doubt about that. The Dosas(rice pancakes) are crisp, Idlis fluffy, Vadas crisp outside and beautifully soft inside all these coupled with heavenly Sambar(traditional South Indian lentil and veggies). You would think the chicken 65 is straight from India. The Chicken Chetinnad is as spicy as it should be and the Fish cooked in banana leaf speaks for itself. Though, there is a small sweet twist to most of the South Indian dishes which is not very characteristic. The North Indian fare is also not bad at all. The Tikkas are deliciousy marinated and cooked to perfection, rotis, naans, always steaming hot and soft and Dals perfectly combine with all. But you would definitely go to Indian Summer for South Indian cuisine. The decor could be better. Ambience is nice- typical India- the place is always packed. A good reason to book before, even on week days. To sum up Indian Summer in one word: A.U.T.H.E.N.T.I.C.

I have been to a few restaurants on the island. If you want to eat something else than chinese...then go to Chez Pepe. It's an italian restaurant in front on the beach of Flic en Flac. You have a large choice from meat to pasta, pizza and seafoods. The owner is italian and really sympathetic. The food is good, the environment welcoming.Go to Flic en Flac and ask for a nice restaurant, I will be surprise if someone does not tell you about Chez Pepe.

Went there for a late lunch. My friend has a chicken breast with some mushroom sauce and I had shrimps with a creamy & spicy sauce and riz a l'anciene. Service was good although I reckon I there was barely a few tables to serve at that time. The food was great though and the beer excellent. The variety of beers on the menu and within the restaurant is impressive. As for the price, it is expensive but worth the quality of the food served. Will definitely go there again, perhaps for dinner.
