Compote Tamarin (Tamarind Jam) Recipe


Recipe Overview

'Compote Tamarin' is a sweet, sour and spicy tamarind sauce. Easy to make and delicious.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 200g Tamarind Pulp
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 4 Tbsp Chilli Flakes (Optional)

Instructions

  • Place the tamarind pulp in a pan over low/medium heat
  • Add sugar and mix
  • add water and stir until the sugar has dissolved
  • Add 1 tsp of salt
  • Add 4 tbsp of chilli flakes (optional)
  • Mix well
  • Cover and let cook for 5 minutes
  • Stir occasionally until the sauce thickens
  • Turn off the heat
  • Cool and add the jam to jars, and seal them
  • Store in the refrigerator to preserve
