Nankhatai (Sweet Semolina Cookies) Recipe


Recipe Overview

Delicious & light, these eggless cookies are traditional Indian cookies that can easily be prepared at home. It is equally liked by both adults and children as a popular teatime snack or simply as sweet treat. Traditionally made with chickpea flour and ghee, semolina and oil have been substituted instead.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Semolina (Greo)
  • 3 Cup Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamon Powder (Elaichi)
  • 1 Cup Cooking Oil
  • 3 Tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  • Mix all Ingredients
  • Grease oven tray
  • Make the dough into sphere and flatten
  • Add decoration mark using a knife (Optional)
  • Space well as it beomes larger
  • Place in oven and cool for 20 mins at 170 C
  • After 20 mins, allow to cool
  • Serve with a hot tea
