Recipe Overview

Savoury pancakes are quite appreciated by many mauritians. It is best served warm with a coriander/ tomato chutney.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Plain Flour
  • 1 Beaten Egg
  • Chopped Spring Onions
  • 4 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Food Colour (yellow)

Instructions

  • Mix flour with salt, melted butter and egg in a large bowl
  • Gradually add water until a thick batter is obtained
  • Add the chopped spring onions
  • Add food colour (optional)
  • Heat a pan on medium heat and grease with oil
  • Gently spread the batter into a circle
  • Let cook on both sides (about 40 seconds each side)
  • Serve hot with chutney
