Recipe Overview
Nothing can be more Mauritian, then the classic Rougaille dish. This typically Creole dish, is so versatile it can accompany almost anything. Serve it plain or add any vegetable or meat to it.
Recipe Ingredients
- 2 Chillies, cut into lengthwise
- Half onion finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, roughly chopped
- Oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a deep pan, heat some oil on medium heat
- Add the onion
- Add the chillies
- Add garlic and ginger paste
- Stir
- Cook until the onion is soft
- Now add the chopped tomatoes
- Add salt
- Cover and cook on a low heat for about 15 mins
- Keep streaming to a creamy consistency
- Turn off the heat
