Recipe Overview
Another great Mauritian snack, Piment Cari Frir- chilli peppers dipped in a batter and deep-fried. These chicken stuffed fritters are a real treat for anyone who enjoys spicy food. Otherwise, you can always opt for a milder variety of chilli pepper.
Recipe Ingredients
- Boneless chicken
- Chili
- Salt
- Ginger
- Garam masala
- Garlic paste
- Chopped onions
- Besan
- Flour
- Bicarbonate powder
Instructions
- Cut chicken into pieces removing bones
- Blend Chicken
- Cut chilli removing all seeds and allow to soak in salty water for 1 hour
- Add salt, ginger and garlic paste and garam masala (optional) to the chicken
- Pan fry the mixture adding chopped onions
- Allow chilli to dry and add chicken
- Add besan (gram flour) and flour
- Add chopped spring onions, bicarbonate powder and salt
- Add water and mix
- Heat oil
- Wrap stuffed chilli with the besan paste and deep fry
- Serve hot
