Boulette Fromage (Cheese Balls) Recipe


Recipe Overview

Melting and oozing on the inside, with a perfectly golden and crispy crust on the outside- these Cheese Balls are sure to make your mouth water. Serve these a snack or even as a starter, with some sauces and condiments.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup |128g Flour (Half self raising and half all purpose flour)
  • 100g butter
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sweetcorn
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • Half of onion, finely sliced
  • 1 chilli finely chopped
Breadcrumb for coating

** You can keep in the freezer for up to 4 months

Instructions

  • Add 1 cup of water in a deep sauce pan over medium heat
  • Add 100g of butter
  • Gently heat so the butter melts
  • Add 1 tbsp of salt
  • Add black pepper
  • Add 1 cup of flour (1/2 plain flour + 1/2 self raising flour)
  • And beat vigorously with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough is obtained
  • Transfer into a bowl and allow to cool
  • Add 3 beaten eggs little by little and mix well
  • Add 1/2 cup of sweet of corn
  • Add half onion finely chopped or spring onion
  • Add 1 finely chopped chilli
  • Mix well
  • Add 1 1/2 cup of shredded kraft cheese
  • Mix until well incorporated
  • Take 1 tbsp of the mixture and add into the breadcrumb
  • Form into balls and coat well in the breadcrumb
  • Heat some oil over medium low heat
  • Fry the cheese balls until nicely coloured
  • Place the fried cheese balls on kitchen paper to absord the extra oil
