Recipe Overview
Melting and oozing on the inside, with a perfectly golden and crispy crust on the outside- these Cheese Balls are sure to make your mouth water. Serve these a snack or even as a starter, with some sauces and condiments.
Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup |128g Flour (Half self raising and half all purpose flour)
- 100g butter
- salt to taste
- black pepper
- 1/2 cup sweetcorn
- 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 3 beaten eggs
- Half of onion, finely sliced
- 1 chilli finely chopped
** You can keep in the freezer for up to 4 months
Instructions
- Add 1 cup of water in a deep sauce pan over medium heat
- Add 100g of butter
- Gently heat so the butter melts
- Add 1 tbsp of salt
- Add black pepper
- Add 1 cup of flour (1/2 plain flour + 1/2 self raising flour)
- And beat vigorously with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough is obtained
- Transfer into a bowl and allow to cool
- Add 3 beaten eggs little by little and mix well
- Add 1/2 cup of sweet of corn
- Add half onion finely chopped or spring onion
- Add 1 finely chopped chilli
- Mix well
- Add 1 1/2 cup of shredded kraft cheese
- Mix until well incorporated
- Take 1 tbsp of the mixture and add into the breadcrumb
- Form into balls and coat well in the breadcrumb
- Heat some oil over medium low heat
- Fry the cheese balls until nicely coloured
- Place the fried cheese balls on kitchen paper to absord the extra oil
