Recipe Overview
Full of crunch and flavour, this pickled mix of vegetables is seasoned with turmeric and mustard. Green chillies can also be added for an extra kick. This is a great accompaniment with your main meals or even as a filling for bread.
Recipe Ingredients
Vegetables:
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Green Beans
- Olive Oil
- Chilli
- Garlic
- Salt to taste
- Pickle Spices (mixture of mustard seeds and turmeric powder)
Instructions
- Wash and cut green beans in slices lengthwise
- Peel, wash and shred carrots
- Clean, shred cabbage (or cut) and wash
- Pour boiling water in a large bowl
- Dissolve salt in water
- Add all vegetables and leave for 2-3 minutes
- Allow to drain for another 10 minutes
- Add grated (or diced) garlic
- Add pickle spices (mixture of mustard seeds and turmeric powder)
- Add olive oil and mix well
- Finally add sliced chillies
