Boules de Sésames (Gato zinzli) Recipe


Recipe Overview

Les boules de sésame (Gâteau Zinzli en créole) sont un délicieux dessert chinois qui est reconnu comme Jian Dui. La pâte est recouverte de graines de sésame à l'extérieur et est croustillante et moelleuse. Ils sont idéaux pour l'heure du thé ou comme un goûter pendant la journée.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cuillères à soupe de beurre
  • 1/4g tasse du sucre (50g)
  • 1 oeuf
  • 1/4 tasse d'eau de 56ml
  • 3 cuillères à soupe de graines de sésame
  • 2 tasses de farine ordinaire (280g)
  • 1 cuillère à soupe de levure

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix butter with sugar
  • Add 1 egg and mix with 1/4 cup of water
  • Add 3 tbsps sesame seed
  • Add 2 cups of plain flour
  • Add 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • Mix until a soft and slightly sticky dough is obtained
  • After having made the dough, roll into small balls
  • Dip the balls in water and coat evenly into the sesame seeds
  • In a pan, heat some oil for frying
  • When the oil is medium hot, dip the sesame balls one at a time and keep stirring until a light brown colour is obtained.
