3-Course Lunch at Varangue sur Morne in a fantastic natural setting
A 3-course lunch with a view that makes you slow down - that’s what awaits you at Varangue sur Morne. Restaurants.mu brings you this dining experience to enjoy with your loved ones in a setting that already feels like a break from the usual.
Out in the south west, this is the kind of place you don’t just pass by. You go there when you feel like taking a proper pause. Surrounded by greenery and overlooking the mountains, the atmosphere is calm, open, and far from the usual busy lunch spots.
Set in a colonial-style house with rustic touches, the space opens onto a wide veranda overlooking Le Morne and Baie du Cap. You settle in on solid wooden tables made from old railway sleepers or Palissandre, with the breeze coming through and the view quietly sitting in the background.
Then the food starts arriving, and you ease into it. A few different 3-course menus shape the experience, each with its own feel - some leaning towards local favourites, others towards seafood or vegetarian plates, with something simple for the kids as well. From Chou Chou gratin and comforting curries to grilled fish and their Tapioca (Sagoo) with coconut flavour, it’s familiar food done with care.
It’s the kind of place where you take your time without thinking about it - a proper lunch, good company, and a setting that makes you stay a little longer.
