The cakes, the pastries and above all this, cherry on the cake, the service, always with a smile though they have to often rush :) R & B Cake Studio - A place one needs to experience at least once and surely it won't be the last It's where connaisseur talent, experience and passion meet to bring to you beyond expectations "Delices" with astounding designs at decent prices.

I think this place is already famous all over the Island for its German specialities! Thanks to the German pastry specialist Romy who can bake all cakes if you just give her the name of them.. We ordered many cakes there, also for bigger events and not only ourselves but also our friends were always impressed, asking us from where this pastry is. Most delicious! I also tried their lunch and I must say I had the best Pannini ever in Mauritius there. Also the Pizza is worth trying!

What a delight to know that there is a place to go and indulge in a great snack topped with a cake in Mauritius! Oh no mistake, there is plenty of cakes available on the island, in all kinds of colors, forms and prices, but Romy and her husband Blek create theirs to cover the needs of an oftentimes veggie island population without losing an inch of their creativity...and their cakes taste supergood, eggs or not. Well and there is more: those pizzas and of course the panini! Our whole family has become addicted to them already and it is to be counted with countless trips to Lallmatie. The cake studio is well organised, clean, nice menu, extremely friendly service and as far as the food goes all we can say is that it was love at first bite!

I just HAD to visit this place after reading about all the exciting reviews here. I tried not to expect too much, but even keeping my expectations low, I must say I left the place feeling disappointed. The chairs and tables badly need a make over. The cakes looked dry and too artificially colorful. Flies were all over the place, sometimes happily having a taste of the cakes on display. My friend had the panini. She said it tasted good enough, but the club sandwich I ordered had no tomatoes in it, no bacon, and it was too dry. Okay, some people here don't eat bacon, granted, but additional mayo and at least the tomatoes would have done the trick. I had an "éclair" afterwards. the cream filling was good, but other than that, it tasted like it was baked 2 or 3 days ago. Did I just pick the wrong cake or what? To be fair, the guy was friendly and helpful. But then, you had to pick up your orders from the counter to bring it to your table (and this place was not a food court). Plus some of stuffs we wanted were not available. Again, to be fair, the place really seemed quite popular among the locals, who kept pouring in. But even by general mauritian standards, I think the place lets you down.

I am visting blak pastry almost on a daily basis for a quick snack. Since it is a pastry with some fast food items and not typical restaurant. I think it is fair enough not to have a waitress. My personal favorite is the chicken panini & i think for Rs 75 you can not eat better anywhere in flacq area. Probably the only alternative to mine Frite & Roti. Actually a marlin panini would be something i still miss. My family always order the choco genoise for any birthday we have. It is just delicious and anyone who ever had a custom made design like the one shown on the homepage will not think about anything else for a birthday gift. Overall don't expect a first class restaurant buy a very creative pastry. If you want to bring your girlfriend, to a candle light dinner, this is not the place to go, but if you want to grab a yummy takeaway or have a nice dessert. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent service with excellent food served. I have also ordered a cake for my daughter's 1st birthday and the cake was simply Yummy!!! It was a big cake with a nice 'Winnie the Pooh' on it - Design was very well done. There were also more pastries i ordered which were very nice. For examply the Napolitain were in mini hearts shape and the rest were little smileys napolitain which was the perfect design for a kids party! You should definitely try the food at the restaurant and the pastries as well!! Too Good la:-)

Hi, When u really like n appreciate something, u don't hesitate to tell the truth. Wat i would say about R&B Cake Studio is that, to start the people r very friendly n gud welcoming. In fact, i was in a confusion where to order my son's birthday cake koz the one i placed my order 2 years ago is closed now, so this was really a headache 4 me. One day, i just surf the net, to look 4 pasrty shops in mru, then i came across R&B cake studio, I was really impressed at first sight itself wiz its web site, it's so simple n coooool... And i was more impressed when i saw its variety of birthday cakes 4 children. So, without spending more time, i sent an email for more information and got my reply also, which i appreciated again. Then, the came 4 z order n the birthday was done with all enthusiam. All the guests liked the cake very much though it was a vegetarian one and also the picture on the cake, which was the Famous Mufassa with his son, Simba on his back. It was really impressive..... With over 11 years of worldwide experience, they both deliver cakes and food with exquisite taste. Their cooking and baking are the most versatile around. Blek has created so many unique recipes for cakes; like The Black Beauty™ (a super moist chocolate-intense cake) and much more. Their genoise are so yummy, their tiramisu excel the French and their croissants leave you with a subtle satisfaction. I always recommend friends and relatives to order cakes from RnB Cake Studio. Blek and Romy put their hearts in everything that they do and they are true Pastry gurus! The last cake that I ordered with them - Chocolate cake with Chocolate Mousse ... was so intense. R & B Cake Studio is simply one of the best cake studio I have been to. The price and taste is really good. Unfortunately they have only 1 location but would be great if they had more studios around the island to share their tasty cakes. Regards

The food is nice but not all the cake is good.I would reccomend the Genoise au chocolat. The chocolate veggi cake is not really chocolate but overall service is ok to visit again. They give free gift in return of 3 receipts..which is very nice compared to others. But day after day their bday cakes are becoming smaller and smaller!

Hi bleck, I was at your studio in the morning. Well last time you really did amazed us with your talent. My little angel really loved your cake, she loved it so much that she didn't want to cut it. There was dora n babouch n all the decorations on it, it was just a wonder. So again now i need your help to create another wish of her. She want the team of baby looney tunes on her cake ... for that without hesitation i turn to you .....

For me this is the best place on Mauritius for cakes, and snacks als well. The service is excellent and the cakes just amazing. And regarding the cakes: there is nothing you cant get ot what they cant do. And the designs are so great. What ever you are looking for: birthday cake, wedding, ect... this is the right place to go and to order. You will get top quality and a good price too. Sometimes I drive all the way down from Pereybere to Lallmatie...only to enjoy. Have a nice cake and a ice cold cappucion, or pizza, or panini... I can recommend that place to everybody. It is really worth do visit. Also when you come from more far away. Xxx

I came to Mauritius for a lovely holiday and one day we hired a car to visit the whole Island. We stopped at R&B cake studio and Romy and Blek spoiled us rotten. We had Pizza (which was super Good, trust me, I'm Italian after all) and could not resist paninis and also assorted cakes and everything was absolutely lovely. Please make sure you visit R&B studio when you are really hungry as there is nothing on the menu that you should not try! Also congratulations to Blek on his wonderful cakes design and to Romy for just being so special

On behalf of Port Louis Toastmasters Club, I would like to thank Romy and Blek for the fantastic cake they made for Toastmasters 80th birthday celebration. We had contacted them at the last minute and they were very accommodating and reactive and provided a fantastic service! And on top of that the cake was delicious! Thank you!

We visited this place the first time in December 2012. Surprised about the variations of cakes and bisquits they offer. Big surprise for us the production of "German Laugenbrezel". Very good quality and one (beside others) reason to return. Stuff quick and efficient. Owners friendly and welcomed. A good address in the East of Mauritius.

Being almost 10,000 miles away was stressing me as to whom to contact, what to pay, or if the service would be delivered as ordered. Well...Blek & Romy made all of those concerns go away as they arraigned to have 2 birthday cakes custom made and delivered to a friend. The 1st was Non-veggie Large, and the 2nd was Veggie (Small). The cakes were enjoyed by more than 20 party goers and there was cake left over to take home. I highly reccommend the R&B Cake Studio to nationals, expats, and International customers. The best ever for birthday cakes and the shakes. I have ordered many times and all the times the cakes was awesome. Affordable, good service and good location. I love it.
