My wife and I went to this restaurant to taste some Sushi as we both love Japanese food. We were quite impressed by the setup of the restaurant offering a warm and cosy atmosphere. We ordered some Salmon and Tuna makis as a taster. We were very disappointed by the quality of the sushis. The makis did not have enough fish and tasted awful. Our biggest surprise was the price of 2 rolls which came to nearly £15. This is more than twice you would pay in the UK at a much better sushi bar or restaurant. We would not recommend the Japanese part of that restaurant. We will try other places and write more reviews on that site for those Sushi and Sashmi fans :)

We had the pleasure to visit La Rougaille right after opening in November 2008. La Rougaille was recommended by a local. We were treated in a very friendly way and felt very welcome at arrival. The waiter was very helpful in selection of foods. Help was needed as Creole cuisine was something new to us. The food was very tasty and spicy. We could have our say on the spicyness of the food which was nice. We got 5* attention from the staff throughout our visit. La Rougaille's drink speciality was a selection of home blended local spirits. As the portions were generous, a nice schnapps was more than welcome to facilitate digestion in the end and during the late lunch. After visiting a wide range of restaurants all over the world, the happiness and service-mindedness of the staff, good atmosphere, delicious meals and unique selection of drinks are the drivers to come back to La Rougaille Creole.

We went there on a Monday of August after having read about the Monday special offer (2 hamburgers for 1)posted in August on this site (and still online) but we were told that it was not valid anymore. We tried the hamburgers and fries but they were simply not good.

Ce restaurant forme partie de mes tops 5 restaurants à Maurice. C’est toujours un réel plaisir d’y aller…. Dès notre arrivé on est très bien accueilli, le service est super, et les papilles s’en souviennent toujours. Mon dessert favori ? L’ananas flambé ! J’ai ai été au moins une vingtaine de fois et je recommande fortement ce resto !!!!!

Alors là, si vous voulez passer une soirée inoubliable… que ce soit pour vos papilles, le cadre, le service c’est le restaurant à mettre en haut de sa liste !! Pour mon époux et moi c’est notre restaurant préféré !!! Par contre ils disent ne pas accepter la carte Maestro car ils n’ont pas l’appareil adéquat mais on s’est renseigné auprès de notre banque au département concerné et celle-ci nous a confirmé que le restaurant est muni de cet appareil…. ( juste pour préciser pour les gens qui n’ont que cette carte comme mode de paiement carte )

Nous avons été accueillis par une dame qui n'a même pas répondu à notre " bonsoir " et même pas un sourire! Ok tanpis. Nous étions cinq et demandons une table dans le jardin extérieur et elle nous répond que ce n'est pas possible vue que nous sommes plus de quatre et qu'il n'y a pas de table prévu pour le nombre dehors...chose qui nous a parut normal mais surprise elle nous attribua une table de quatre couverts à l'intérieure et donc il a fallu se serrer pour faire place à un cinquième couvert! On le lui fait gentiment remarquer mais la réponse fut sèche et directe " dehors, vous gênerez le passage ". Ok alors on laisse tomber. Du début à la fin du diner cette serveuse a été désagréable, le repas quant à lui vraiment mauvais ( sans aucun gout ), le service hyper lent et même que la serveuse évitait notre regard donc il a fallu par moment demander au serveur de la table voisine afin de se faire servir mais lui par contre était agréable et poli. L'état du restaurant... plutôt sale! Toiles d'araignée, cafards, lézard au mur juste à côté de mon amie... Bref, ce n’est pas les restaurants qui manquent à Maurice donc je ne recommanderais certainement pas ce restaurant !! Ah oui, si vous êtes touriste ne vous en faites pas… des sourires et l’amabilité vous en aurez toute la soirée de la serveuse !!! En tous cas elle a manquer sa chance d’avoir un très bon pourboire ;-)

jadore c le bar a ne pas raté, au centre ville bien situé pour la nuit c excellent, pleins de touristes étrangers, les clips en direct....vue sur la route de grand baie, excellent, jadore

salut jsuis réunionnaise, je viens très souvent à l'ile maurice, je séjourné toujours ç grand baie et je vais tjrs au "camaron rouge", ce petit resto est exceptionnel, ambiance assurée le vendredi, et les plats sont frais, les poissons, les langoustes, etc....jadore, leurs plats sont excellents, l'accueil également et le prix vraiment est abordable comparé à la Réunion, vous êtes sûrs de vous amusés et de passés une bonne soirée avec les petits serveurs très convivials....reservé à l'avance car pas toujours y a de la place !!!!!!ou passé pour réservé si vous êtes sur place moi j'adore ce resto mauricien....

Been often for lunch and always enjoyed myself, so decided to come for dinner and was sadly very disappointed. Food was very average as was the barman's knowledge of drinks - I had to tell him how to make a Martini, even though it was on offer on the menu!

I have been going to this restaurant whenever I'm in Curepipe and the food has never stop impressing me. I love the 'bol renversé'. Next time you're in Curepipe, you've got to try it. You won't be disappointed.

As usual, even with the profusion on new restaurants in Grand Bay, old school still has the hands! Don camillo is indeed one of the few restaurants where you wish to go again for awesome expereinces with fresh and tasty antipasti, pizzas and italian food. The wine is good and affordable. Try Fontelli, excellent Chianti for a very good price (Rs 795) and the osso bucco. Like good wine, thsi restaurant has matured in a very good way. Bravo Patrice and Regis. However, a little review of the exteriors woudl be welcome.

I have never been to a restaurant with such a bad service, they messed our orders and bills up. We ended up paying for food that we did not order... I had to send my food back to the kitchen twice !! But I have to say, it is in a nice and fairly quiet location. Never again !

the first time i had lunch at Pepe with a friend, the service was very slow. The pizza we ordered was salty. the next time we went there, they missed the chicken on the pizza. the food was taken back to the kitchen to only place the chicken over the cooked mozarella. what was irritating was that the waiter did not appologize for the mistake. They charge high prices for such low quality in their service.

Worst place to ever eat. Unhealthy and disgusting. Had the worst experience with food out there!!!

It was an experience eating near the seaside but however it was tainted by a certain lack of hygiene in the food. My fiance and I ordered seafood because we absolutely love those. I was however completely disgusted to see that the giant shrimps and lobster had not been cleaned, that is the black vein on their back was still there. I just couldn't make myself to eat it and i dropped it in my fiance's place without telling him why because i didn't want to make him disgusted too. There was no excuse for the chef because on that day, there were very few customers at the restaurant. Finally when i told my fiance, and that was after a long time, he reproached me the fact that i didn't tell him. And that was on a day when he wanted to go to Zub Express once more, but that bad experience was still in my mind and whenever i thought about the shrimps and lobsters, i still feel disgusted. Perhaps, you could just inform them to get their chef to follow a hygienic course for seafood? thanks

we visited that restaurant last year its was during my son birthday we were recommended by a friend we have had a nice day the food was really good especially the fish fillet with mushroom sauce and service was excellent. we were so happy that we came back again we like the place and the service especially the grill garden if you are used to the restaurant do asked your local menu you get around 40 to 50 % discount from normal price.Or meet the chef he is very friendly he make a special price for you and you will really enjoys Advice asked for your local price and have a nice meal
