Very nice restaurant...good food at a reasonable price! Birthday parties may be celebrated there, on reservation. A definitely to dine in place.. :)

I was on vacation for 2 weeks, some friends decided to meet up there. I totally find the place packed with people. The waiters are horrible: you ask for something, either they forgot about it or you get it after 45 mins. I found the food super oily. It's crazy and sad at the same time, it's basically telling you to come and eat at your own risk!!! How convenient! For sure next time am not gonna go there again, no kidding.Well for a Mauritian life style, I think it's expensive for the service it offers! I spent more that a 100 bucks there (which was my treat since I was on vacation)!! and I think 100 bucks for a Mauritian restaurant it's awfully expensive. Where I'm from 100 bucks on food would be fine cuisine! and mind you with good service, otherwise you are not gonna leave good tips! In my opinion, they have way lot to improve!!

If u r looking for a quiet dinner out with ur loved ones, DONT GO THERE!! Its always packed, the food is oily and the noise is a real pain. (it reminded me of my lunch time during schooldays...lol) they are always overbooked and even if u have a reservation, u mite have to wait for more than 45mins to get ur table...and by that time u end up having a waiter who is tired and frustrated To have a good quiet diner, go there early :P but on the other hand who in mauritius likes to have diner at 4pm??? lol

In my own opinion, this restaurant serves the best chinese food in Mauritius, at a very affordable price. It's true that it's often very crowdy and noisy but the food is really excellent. Tip: Take the crispy calamari for the starter, poulet sechuan with "riz Comlone" for the main course !! Cheers

This place is certainly the most over hyped and over rated restaurant in Mauritius! how can we have such oily food in a packed restaurant where you would need a speaker phone to speak to the person right next to you!when i went there, the waiters laughed at me when i told them i reserved!!

I loved the place. Although most ppl say it is overcrowded, got to tell you I loved the atmosphere. Maybe because I was there with a grp of friends but it is a very lively and joyful place. Although I would not totally recommend you this place if you are with ur lover and looking for some romantic place. Let's face it, most of us go to restos for the food not to see people sitting quietly or whatever. The food is really nice and very affordable too. We received quite a good service and enjoyed it. I would recommend you this place especially if you are with friends or want to celebrate a bday party or something..;)

No longer the Comlone I knew long time back. Food is no longer excellent or exceptional...just standard stuff. The waiters serve you very quickly too quickly in fact! And this is very annoying some time. You don't even finish your starters when the main course is served. The rapidity is not meant to show the quality of service...It is meant to remind you that you will have to give the waiter a tip...Each time he serves you a dish, he reminds you that he has managed some extra quantities...that he is serving you very quickly...etc ...etc. So after all this it would be odd not to give a tip! The place is now terribly crowded at night..thanks to its name...The owner should try to think about the old days and improve on the quality of the food and talk to waiters not to stress indirectly so much on tips.

I think that if you are really famished.. Just end up in Comlone because they provide quick service.. In terms of the quality of food.. i'll rate a 4/5. Its quite delicious. At first, the atmosphere will seem to be wierd but just when you have taken a seat near the window, everything seemed to be so romantic. Now why just near a window? Its because you get a panoramic view of the sea and nature. And am a lover of nature. The waiter pay particular attention to you and if there is a menu not included in the list, they can manage to please you and i have appreciated their determination. I would say that even if its most of the time crowded, it also have a waiting room and there is another floor where you can go and have your food :)

Location is good and enough seating for big groups. Service is rather poor and slow. Food is overcooked and not tasty. Prices are very good but quality can certainly improve.

We heard a lot about this place so we went in a big group for a fun outing. But what a disaster it was ! The service was so poor and slow. The steamed fish was overcooked and had to be sent back. The chicken and prawns had no taste at all. The rice and noodles arrived 20 minutes after the other dishes !!! The only positive are the prices and the location. The waiters certainly need to be trained.

COMLONE IS ONE OF YHE BEST EVEN THE DECORATION OF THE RESTO IS NT LIKE 5 STAR BUT THE FOOD QUALITY N THE SERVICE QUALITY COVER EVERYTHING N MAKE THE RESTO BEST.IVE BEEN THERE TWICE N WILL GO AGAIN KEEP IT ON GUYS .

Went there a lot of time. Food is good but service is not rapid.Witers walk as if they are sleeping. Once i ordered a calamar croustillant,there was hair in it.I showed it to the waiter,they gave me another one.I took it home and found another hair in it.HAHAHAHAHA Last time, i ordered riz safraner, and hair in it again....

There is something different about the restaurant compared to all other restaurants in Mauritius, including all the 5-star and 8-star hotels if any in Mauritius. I don't know what makes them look more special day by day, but for me, it's more different from others, I select them among the top best genuine restaurants in Mauritius, even the number 1 in the next days to come. That I can guarantee you, you just wait and watch. You, People, do not go by words or point of views of others so easily, think well take a little breath before thinking and finalise your opinion, make the proper and best choice in the future by yourself and see what comes next. I will come straight to the point. The staff at this restaurant will benefit a lot should the management invest in a proper customer care service. This is the first time ever I have experience such poor attitude at an eating place.

Food was average but staff not to standard. Especially the one on the main road at Nouvelle France. Perhaps investing in a course like customer service for your staff would go a long way.

The other night my guests and I had dinner at the Nouvelle France Comlone restaurant. Unfortunately, a bad customer service experience tainted the evening. The good news is that this event created a learning opportunity that is never go there again. I thought I would share it with the blog community as a means to help learn what your staff should not do when a customer/client is dissatisfied. The service was off to a rocky start as the waiter took quite a while to get to us. But we tried to give him the benefit of doubt. The food was cold on arrival, the waiter was least interested to what we had to say and it just got worst after there. Some customers have suggested some training to the staff at Comlone. From what we have experienced, the sooner this is done, the better it will be if you are to survive in this competitive area.

I went there recently with my husband and i can say that they improved quite a lot. Food was served rapidly and the waiters were welcoming. Nice, I appreciated.

Tasteless food and poor service. Main course served before all starters had been served.

Except for the cold prawn in my little one's "Bol Renversee", the food was excellent! But, the attitude of the server would reduce your appetite to nil! He was laughing with his mates but when serving the table he was as cold as the prawn! Hope this was a momentary issue only. I normally tip my waiter 10%of the bill, but for once he didn't get a cent from me although the bill was Rs 1000+!
