Finding a parking was a problem.
Diner was good but I still find Wang Thai better.

My parents were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary and I wanted to take them to some place different than the typical Mauritian type of food (Fried noodles or rice or Indian food) and Thaifoon totally meet that expectation.

The dining is just above street level so you may experience traffic noise & there aren't nice views yet the decor of the restaurant is...

relaxing and welcoming.

There is a wide array of choice on the menu + I agree with Parson's review about " It is one of the only restaurants where the owners personally will serve your table to ensure that the service is up to standard"

The food was ok - nothing really to shout about...It has potential to be a lot better. The consensus was that the food was not at all very Thai like in flavour -- it looked like Thai food, but it did not taste of Thai food. IT is more a mixture of Thai and Mauritian version that was served + I felt there was a lack of presentation of the food served.

That said, I am sure you will not be disappointed eating there
and is well worth venturing.

Fantastic restaurant, with seriously excellent Thai food!!!

The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with wonderful wooden carvings which set the scene...

The menu is very extensive with something for everyone...my favourite "starter" at this stage is the Vietnamese spring rolls....dessert....the chocolate springrolls (to die for!!!) and my main...well too...

many favourites to mention....Oh and the tom yum soup....deliscous!

The service is not bad at all....above average for Mauritius...and the owners...well say no more...they are fantastic and make every visit to their restaurant an occassion to remember!!!

I have been visiting Thaifoon since it opened and have to say
that myself and friends have never had a bad meal,infact I know that if I want to have a excellent meal or want to take colleagues for a meal,I am assured that I will be looked after.It is one of the only restaurants where the owners personally will serve your table to ensure that the service is up to standard.

The noise can be disturbing but been away from the ocean does aid with not having bugs and mosquitoes to annoy you as much.Im my books it is also very clean and you can even watch the chefs cooking.

One major plus is that the servings are a decent size and are tasty.The prices are also well structed and affordable to eat there more than once a month.You have to try the fish dishes and the angryduck is divine.

I have to mention from a previous writer review that must have been there a long time ago,that most restaurants have outside vendors make cakes and desserts.Having said that,they were the best chocolate brownies I have ever tasted and haved repeatedly asked to please have them back.I have visited Thailand and had the food and I think it is traditionally Thai..The chilli,lemongrass and ginger make the dishes.

I think you wont be disapointed eating there and as far as restaurants in Mauritius go....that rate tops.

I wouldn't classify the food being served here as Thai, it's more like Chinese.

I've been to many Thai restaurants around the world & this is not one of them.

None of the Thai restaurants that I have visited here in Mauritius are much good, but this is probably the best of a bad lot.

I would avoid some of the deserts (like the chocolate brownies) as...

they are not made on site, but at someones house who bakes for a hobby.

Very nice restaurant.

I went there with my family. We took the tasting menu (offered on the weekends). The service was good, and we all enjoyed the big selection of dishes. My favorite was the rice egg roll, also we all very much enjoyed the shrimps - both the steamed and the fried.

Nice place. Very beautiful design. It was quite empty. As for the Restaurant atmosphere, since the terrace is overlooking the street, it does not have the best atmo, missing the sea view and sea breeze. Other then that the food was really good, I very much enjoyed the rice eggroll with vegetables the steamed shrimps and the unique dessert of chocolate eggroll.

was the best I ever had in Mauritius restaurant - friendly and at the same time very professional.
