Le Bistrot & L'entrecote Steak house

Best Steak House in Grand Baie no doubt about it, i have been to the resturant with my wife many times over the past 2 years- and as long as the food and service will remain on this level we will keep on comming back here to dine. I would highly recommend the Japanese "Wagyu" steak it is unbelivable tender meat. I have recommended this resturant to many colleagues at work- and they have also been very impressed with the quality of the food.

Fratelli's Deli

Went there based on reviews from here and I must say it was a disappointment. The menu has nothing special and the price range is high.
They serve sushis there too, which I found inappropriate for a restaurant named "fratelli`s", which is logically italian.

A friend of mine told me about an incident with their food which makes it even less of a go-to place for me..

The wine is supposed to be good. So I guess you might go for the wine.

All in all, it is not a place where an average mauritian would have a nice lunch.

Bit of a hit and miss this one.

The food is pretty much the same quality each time with a few exceptions.

However, the service is entirely dependant on the waiter. Some are excellent, some are OK and some are downright poor.

The last couple of times I went, I had the unpleasant experience of being served by the same poor waiter (just my luck!).

First time I went, he...

messed up the main course order because he couldn't be bothered to come closer to the table. Instead he stood upright and allowed his "super-hearing" to take the order, despite the loud noise from the people talking and the loud music!

The second time I went, I waited a whole 15 minutes for the same guy to take my order. He was more interested in another customer who came in 5 minutes after and would you believe, got served before me.

I had ordered a chicken burger with chips and the order came after only a few minutes. However, the bread used for the burger was NOT their standard soft bread bun. Instead, they had served me a "du pain maison". Yep, the typical Mauritian, hard, cheap and cheerful bread!

At first I thought it was a joke, then I looked at the guy sitting a few tables away and he also had the same type of bread. I was not impressed! Poor stock control and even poor judgement on the Manager's part to offer such a cheap inferior replacement.

So to sum up, sometimes good sometimes bad.

La Cigale Pizzaria

For me the best example of Mauritian hospitality. Waiters are very helpful in explaining the menu and suggesting. The quality of ingredients is really high and for this quality, the prices are more than affordable. Really good food, good service and affordable prices.

Canton Restaurant

The food at Canton is really awesome. The service is OK and the prices are more than reasonable. I really recommend this restaurant.

Enter the place, waitress like not interested to serve and no welcome!
Ordered a Chicken burger and T-bone steak.
Chicken burger was very disappointing. Huge burger bun with a tiny piece of cooked chicken breast.
T-bone steak served with veg and parmesan risotto. Meat was ok, but the veg stew was terrible, the risotto is like sweet rice pudding. no parmesan taste at all and...

it was cook with ordinary long grain rice not arborio or any risotto grain, sauce were suck.
Just to ask for bill, waited more then 10mins to get attention of the waitress. At the end we have to walk to the cashier counter to ask for bill. By the way, just to let you know the restaurant is Empty at the point of asking our bill.
