I like the burgers prepared without using oil, but I can't rate any junk food positively! Only choice for Big Mac addicts, other places don't have beef! N there's an old rusty air vent on top of up which is dripping rusty water.. :-S.. I say..ok.. not an issue.. its fallen on my head.. Let us change places without making a fuss (Like most mauritians do!!).. 'drip drip drip' THIS TIME ON MY BURGER! This time i get really pissed off and my English friend Cs 'haha..Welcome to Mauritius'!. I get downstairs..Call for the floor manager.. N I explained what happened.. The guy looked at the ceiling..saw the rusty water STILL dripping..n said 'There's is nothing i can do about this sir..this is not my problem..' WHAT?? I come to YOUR restaurant..n you 'cant do anything?'. I wasnt expecting the manager to fall at my feet and apologise.. But a simple 'Sorry sir, we apologise.. this wont happen again..' EVEN if he had not given me another burger..i dnt care..but the least is to apologise for smething that is wrong and very unhygienic. I am very very disappointed that another international fast food, after KFC, who has neglected hygiene in their restaurant! And the thing is, today it is AC water.. tomorrow it might be something else in their kitchen (Just for info..the toilet is just above the kitchen).. Very poor client service and average food.. I think we deserve better than this! But sincerely.. we mauritians are too lenient about these issues..n it is very bad for our image.. as my english friend told me 'Welcome to mauritius..' McDonald's reviewed by: Hush Puppies on 07/01/2012 On 05.01.2012, i visited the MC Donald Restaurant of Phoenix with my two children and to my surprise, there were NO nuggets, NO ketchup, NO chilli & sundae was available only in strawberry topings. Only 4 staff were present, 2 in kitchen and 2 in customer facing. I was shocked to note such excrebale service provided at an international franchise. Soft drink = lack fizzyness and watered down. Ice cream, Mcflurry and Milk shake. Had a bad stomach. Read More » machine is switched off causing the milk not to remain refrigerated and to go stale. Apple pie = often out of stock. Service = very inconsistent as at one time Service is average and at other time service is damn slow and cashiers are often not courteous. What happened yesterday was the tip of the iceberg. I asked for a take-out lunch and I was served. I had to wait for more than 5 minutes. After that I received the order but to my surprise the Pepsi was delivered to me bare... Read More » without any packing. I asked for a paper bag but I got refused twice. And not to mention that there is a TOTAL lack of politeness. I would have appreciated to hear "We are sorry sir, but according to our policy we cannot dispense bags for drinks" but I got back "Pena droit". The cashier asked the server if he could give me one, but the reply was blunty "Pena droit, pas ti dire dans reunion gramatin". So, I was then aware it was a new company policy that was passed the same morning. I would like to ask you one thing sir, when we take a take away, are we supposed to take the drink in our hands and go through the city and even in buses if we do not have a means of transport!!!!!!!!! That's ridiculous. What's a simple paper bag? Finally, I had to buy a plastic bag. I was shocked to find the cost of the bag to be Rs 4. The bag is the same as the normal plastic bag we get in the supermarkets or elsewhere. What is so special that it is costing twice the price. I would like you to reply me. This is not my only bad experience. In the past I recalled that I asked for a ketchup and the waiter asked me for Rs. 3. I am more than fed up of such companies that do not offer a complete service. Instead they break down each and every items as a payable one whereas others are providing same AND WITH A SMILE. I have never been refused of plastic cutlery or ketchup or a plate at KFC. There are some marks that distinguish the outstanding service from others. As a disgruntled customer, I will never step again in any MCDonalds. There are other food companies here that REALLY CARES. Read More » cashier gave me only one tomato and chilli sauce and i have asked her for two but she makes it as if she didn't care about what i was saying. i insisted as i bought two meals but still nothing or response from her.so, i've asked for the manager and get finally my chilli sauce. i've wasted nearly 30 mins dealing with this stupid thing about a chilli sauce, i really think that mac do is a good place for chilling but with some incompetent staff i really think that this would affect negatively the image of this organisation so please take my request into granted and please don't forget that " LE CLIENT EST ROI " hope to get a reply soon thank you. Read More » Management and working on the Tourism Industry and if I bring my clients to Mc Do I must ensure that the place is safe , that Food Safety rules are observed and HACCP too!! As for the food it is quite good, (at this stage I refrain from comparing it to same burgers in SA/EU and USA...It seems that due to TABOO/RELIGION, Beliefs ect... we don't have other recipes like we do have it EUROPE?SOUTH AFRICA ect.... Which is a shame ...personnally...Why do we call Mauritius a Multicultural Island for then??? can't meals be cooked separately???? separately from Hallal pdts ect...? living in this island I didn't see signs of animal slaughtering for restaurant purposes too...nor "Beef Smoke/clouds" released from any kitchen that could affect veggies leaving nearby....just saying.... The restaurant in Phoenix is only making Chicken pdts and Veg because of ISKON ??? well has there been an study before erecting the restaurant there ect?? has there been an unplanned development somewhere? or that people are too shortminded...I'm Just asking!!!
