Pankaj Udhas became famous for his Chason Chitthi Aaye Hai in the film Naam in 1986. Subsequently, he recorded many albums and traveled the world as a ghazal singer. In 2006 he was awarded the Padmashree. The concert is at the initiative of Maya Events.
