A Contest To Become 'Best Chef Of Mauritius' (Meilleur Ouvrier De Maurice)

The first edition of ‘Coeurlinaire’ will be held from the 3rd to the 6th of October under the sponsorship of Jacqueline Dalais.

Part of the event includes the first contest for the ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de Maurice’ (Best Chef of Mauritius) - cooking/gastronomy category. Those who wish to take part in the contest need to meet certain criteria; be aged over 30 years old before the closing date of registration, on the 25th July; have the Mauritian citizenship; be either chef or sous-chef; show a certain professional mastery, among others.

All candidates will first participate in a theory challenge and only those that succeed will make it through to the finals. Once there, they will have to prepare dishes meeting international standards within the rules of French gastronomy and Mauritian culinary culture. Participants will have to show creativity and innovation to stand out in this unique culinary challenge.

To win the jury over, each participant needs to perform exceptionally and especially capture the quintessence of flavor and taste. Among the jury are two disciples of Paul Bocuse; Christophe Muller and Gilles Reinhardt.

The first prize; one month in Lyon at the Paul Bocuse establishments, all expenses paid.

The closing date for registration is the 25th July 2018.
